Honor your father and mother.

...in a dessert?

Well, after a good amount of Googling and a good amount of coming up with nothing inspiring or witty, I came back to chocolate chip cookies.

Most people have very positive memories of their mom or dad making them chocolate chip cookies, right?

So that's what I chose.

And to make it further fit the theme, I used margarine and shortening (rather than butter) and added extra flour.  To honor my mother.  Because that's how she makes them.

And to honor my father?  I made A LOT..  :)
