"It's just a virus."

Sigh....no.  It's not just a virus.
It's calling the nurse line and being told to bring her in.
It's having to wait on hold for 10 minutes in order to get one of the doctor's last openings.
It's having to park in the absolute furthest spot from the door of the office building.
It's waiting patiently past her appointment time because everybody else is sick too.
It's relinquishing her to the nurse for the chest X-ray because pregnant people can't come in.
It's being told that it's just a virus and there's nothing he can do until she's still sick on Wednesday.
It's knowing that you'll be back on Thursday because your son's sick too...just a couple of days behind.

But alas,
391.  the kids were very good,
392.  we were able to get an appointment with the regular doctor,
393.  I'm able to stay home to be able to take them to appointments like this,
394.  she was brave and didn't cry during the X-ray,
395.  both kids got stickers,
396.  she doesn't have something extremely serious,
397.  we have health insurance,
398.  it's a beautiful day outside,
and
399.  McDonalds just happens to be on the way home.
