Growin' up.

Almost four years ago Blake made a friend.  Of course, he didn't have much choice in the matter- he was just a baby.

The thing is...the boys have stayed friends, and it's been such a privilege to watch.  So much fun!

You see, I realized that they used to sit next to each other, drool, and once in a while they'd reach for the same toy.

Time has passed.

I found myself amazed to watch yesterday as the boys enjoyed doing complex activities with each other.  They played baseball together, and they raced on pedal vehicles up and down the driveway.

And a couple of weeks ago I heard Blake's friend cry, and I thought- Whoa!  I don't think I've heard him cry like that for probably a couple of years now! 

And I thought- How cool is that- to know one of Blake's friends for that long already!?

I've spent a lot of time with kids- babysitting, teaching, you name it...but this is the first time I've gotten to watch two kids really grow up together from babies on.

And I think this process is very cool.
