Missing steps.

One of the nice things about the internet is that a person can find tutorials for just about anything.  This is especially handy for yours truly, who wants to feel all domestic, but usually doesn't have a clue about how to go about things.

Such as making her own spaghetti sauce.

I think I did a pretty decent job, but as I was working, I noticed that the tutorials seem to have left out a few steps, such as:

Step one: Put on a cute apron.  It will make you feel even more domestic.

This doesn't look like a lot of tomatoes.  It is.
Don't feel bad that you've left your slow cooker on the counter for a week (every day meaning to put it away).  The insert actually works quite well for blanching your tomatoes.
How long will blanching and de-skinning the tomatoes take?  Approximately the length of one entire baby-nap.

Make sure to peel a couple of extra carrots- your sous chefs will get hungry.
